GAES TITAN DESERT BY GARMIN
The origins
11 years ago we launched GAES Titan Desert by Garmin on the premise of building a mountain bike race broadly open to all kinds of bike, sport and sacrifice lovers. Today we can say that above all, is a race of self-improvement and individual challenge. It's a race, a competition but especially, it is a challenge. The challenge of achieving what few have achieved in the world. Facing the heat and the distance, the desert in the worse conditions imaginable.
All disputed editions have been a clear example of what it means to face this race. The majority of participants have returned home with the feeling of having done something great, something to remember the rest of their lives. They lived unforgettable moments, difficult moments and moments of emotion... that have been marked forever in their lives. The race attracts participants from all over the world and in this latest edition we must highlight the increased non Spanish participation; up to 21 nationalities were represented.
The spirit of the race is imbued with the efforts of all, the majority of those who came to finish this race, those who had as an objective to prove themselves that they could achieve something available to few. They are the ones that give soul to this race, race that also has the added bonus of having the presence of great athletes such as Laurent Jalabert, Claudio Chiappucci, Roberto Heras, Abraham Olano or Melcior Mauri.
